Leather Armor

There has got to be hundres of leather scales and each are hand sewn onto a leather back. The scale-maile type armor is 2 main pieces, front and back, with buckles at the shoulders and laces on the sides. I made the entire costume for my brother when he was in amtgard. Sorry I'm not taking commisions and I don't know if I'll ever make any more. We had much more leather, but it was stolen and never recovered. This project probably took 50-60 hours, I never kept an exact count. The costume also included the pants and shirt made in a dark bue fabric and antique gold buttons with blue stars. There is also a mink fur collar that hooks to the inside of the armor that is not shown. The plan was to add shoulder pieces and bracers at a later date, but due to the leather shortage, they were never made. The model is my brother Jared, who just joined the Navy, so i don't know if i'll get a better picture anytime soon.
